Chapter 7

The wedding venue buzzed with noise and excitement as everyone remained busy with preparations.

Inside the bride’s room, Piya and Jui were helping Purna get ready. Makeup products, jewelry boxes, and flower garlands were scattered everywhere while the parlor lady carefully adjusted Purna’s veil.

Just then, someone knocked on the door.

Jui hurried to open it.

“Isn’t Purna ready yet?” Lata asked as she stepped inside the room.

“Almost done,” the parlor lady replied with a smile.

Lata glanced at Piya and Jui.

“And you two should get ready quickly too. Guests have already started arriving.”

“Okay, Maa,” Jui replied.

A few minutes later, both of them returned to their room.

Standing in front of the mirror, Piya quietly adjusted the red bangles on her wrist.

The white gown flowed softly around her while her open curls rested against her shoulders.

Yet despite looking beautiful, her eyes carried a strange uneasiness.

Her thoughts refused to calm down.

Who did he want to kill?

Who is he behind that composed face?

Piya immediately shook her head lightly.

No… I shouldn’t think about those things.

Just forget it.

But the memory kept returning again and again.

“If needed… kill him.”

“Piya, are you ready?” Jui called from outside.

“Yes, coming.”

Taking a deep breath, Piya walked toward the wedding venue.

The entire place glowed beneath golden lights and loud laughter. Relatives moved from one place to another while music echoed through the air.

Piya was quietly helping in arranging garlands, flowers and other things.

Piya's POV :

That was when I noticed him.

He stood beside Palak uncle, listening to something he was saying.

But his eyes—

His eyes were fixed on me.

As if he was silently trying to read something hidden inside me.

I looked away quickly .

A strange nervousness wrapped around my chest.

Oh God… why am I panicking so much?

Lowering my gaze, I forced myself to stay calm.

Piya… act normal.

Act like you don’t know him.
